Last year, over a beer, Canadians Reggie and Kyle came up with the idea that the modern man should be stocked with first-class American products. Today they are shipped all over North America.
The idea that gave birth Mantry, is that men like premium nutritional products, but are reluctant to find and buy them.
Therefore, it is necessary to fill this gap and deliver first-class nutritional products to their homes, along with instructions for use. If the idea works perfectly, it will Mantry instilled hospitality in the modern man, so that men will also become hosts, because it is not such a difficult and demanding task after all. And the idea seems to be working, as it has continued to expand since its inception last year, Mantry already ships all over North America.
Mantry (modern man's pantry) is the brainchild of two Canadians, friends Reggie Milligan and Kyle Zien. It was created (like so many ideas before) in a bar. Reggie and Kyle - both are lovers of good food, the first worked in a restaurant and the second was born into a family where everyone is involved in catering - they thought in the direction of combining business and food. She collapsed after a few beers idea : why not find American products that are first class and harder to come by (cannot be bought in supermarkets), package them nicely and deliver them to the urban modern man?
Mantra yourself delivered once a month, a monthly box costs 75 dollars. They say their customers are in their twenties, thirties or forties, urban men with disposable income. Each box is themed (the products are connected by a red thread), contains six to eight products, all of them are American and the work of small producers. To find them, Reggie and Kyle are constantly exploring and traveling, and in between they come across something really inspiring. Like a 150-year-old mill in Georgia with its very own pancake mix. This product was the basis for a themed box that combined everything necessary for breakfast, they added, for example, specially aged maple syrup and the rest of the products for a complete breakfast experience. In addition to the products, the package also contains recipes and handy tips, how to use the products. As Reggie and Kyle say, we understand food better if we know the background story of where it comes from - that's why every box also has a story about the products. The themes are completely different, for example, they prepared a box on the theme of 1800 with selected local brands that appeared in the nineteenth century.
Reactions to Mantry vary, with some claiming that Mantry is aimed more at hipsters than the modern man with its visual image and philosophy. But we welcome always and everything that revolves around local and home grown and outside the framework of mass production. But if it's still packaged - so much the better. Mantry it is, the packages are local, too—wooden boxes handcrafted in Brooklyn.
