On a happy day of culture, on December 3, when holiday lights start to be lit in many cities, Maribor turns into Fairy town and it stays that way until the end of December.
Maribor lighting for the third year in a row, it will be based on the Pohorje fairy tale about the endless ball, which the fairies gave to a poor shepherd. The fairy's hat is called the Fairy's hat and it is unfurled around the city every year, this year Maribor will have Fairy courtyards with recognizable decorative lighting in several locations. And it's not just about the lighting, the Fairy City offers everything and even more that is interesting for all generations and for different tastes.
Fairy town thus enlivening the streets and squares of Maribor with music, dance, puppet and theater shows, caroling, fairy-tale hours, creative workshops, storytelling, street theater, art fair...
Everything will start on December 3rd with the event Let's Decorate the Storefronts and Streets!, where, in cooperation with young local designers, they will decorate some storefronts and part of Gosposka Street in the center of Maribor. Residents, visitors, and merchants will be invited to the decoration, thus giving residents the opportunity to co-create an alternative community decoration of the city center.
