During the Lent festival, for 16 days and 16 nights, Maribor turns into a happy, lively, colorful, sociable and relaxed city, which pulses in the spirit of music, dance, street theater, comedy and creative experiences.
This year's 22nd Lent Festival, from June 20 to July 5, 2014, will again serve up more than 500 events and around 1,200 events for all tastes, with participants from as many as 40 countries around the world, at around 40 venues.
Due to its multicultural character, the Lent festival is a special experience that can best be described by one word - Lentanje. At the Lent Festival, both spectators and performers are active participants in the most pleasant party in the city, where everyone does Lent in their own way, but we all Lent together. For some people, lounging is a first kiss, while for others it is an experience of something new, crazy, unique. Lintanje are big stars on the stage and small stars in the sky, lounging is a chat over good food.
