The market-successful BMW X6 at the first tightening of wrinkles

The starter of the SUC segment or sports utility coupe BMW X6 will hit the roads in December, renewed and technically improved. Due to its slightly larger dimensions, it will offer a little more space for passengers in the second row and luggage, and the eight-speed automatic transmission and xDrive four-wheel drive will always be standard. 30d, 50i and X50d versions available initially.

The interior is also a very exact copy of the one in the X5, and thanks to slightly larger dimensions, there is a little more space, especially for passengers in the second row and luggage.

According to BMW's nomenclature, it is the X6 the pioneer of the SAV segment or the sports activity coupe, which combines the high wheelbase of SUVs with a sportier image and body line. Basically, the lza X5 goes with a slightly flatter roof line, which in the second row also eats up some space for the passengers sitting there and a few liters in the trunk.

The cosmetic overhaul brings the expected look of the front end, first seen on the new generation X5 model, while the side gets some touches of the 4 series and 3 GT series. The rear, on the other hand, got a refreshed image of the lights, which look above all... more modern.

Even in the passenger cabin, most of the innovations come from the aforementioned X5, including a dashboard that is practically identical. Trunk is despite only a cosmetic renovation gained 10 liters and now in the basic layout custom 580-liter, and when the seat bench is collapsed, the increase is even greater, i.e. 75 liters, and the yield below the line 1,525 liters usable space.

The reasons for this are to be found in the slightly longer body, which is not so recognizable to the eye, but the meter shows 32 mm more in length and 6 mm more in width, and it is now 33 mm more in height than before the renovation. Despite the additional millimeters, the mass is 10 kilograms lower than before, and even more important than this is the fact that now weight ratio between the front and rear axle is perfect, that is to say yes is 50:50.

The new X6 will go on sale here in December, and a little before that the prices will be announced, which should not change too much. At that time, three versions will be available, which will always have an eight-speed automatic transmission and xDrive four-wheel drive as standard, and the engine versions will be as follows: 30d, 50i and M50d. The first one is powered by a 3.0-liter diesel unit that develops 190 kW (258 hp), the "basic" gasoline engine is powered by a 4.4-liter V8 that can produce 331 kW (450 hp), and the top of the range will initially be the M50d version, which it is powered by a 3.0-liter triturbo diesel, which hides 280 KW (381 HP) under the hood.

Later, the offer will be strengthened by the following versions: 35i, with 225 kW or 306 hp of maximum power, 40 d, which will hide 230 kW or 313 hp under the hood and, of course, also super powerful X6 M, which will also increase in power, which should amount to significantly more than 550 HP.

It will be the first time with this model three equipment packages also available: basic nameless, xLine and M sport, which, like the other smaller models of the Bavarian brand, will radiate the elegance or sportiness of this model.
