Other European countries commemorate Saint Martin in different ways, who gave his cloak to a beggar to hide his poverty. In Slovenia, this is the festival of wine, which attracts many lovers of wine and good food to the streets of Slovenia, to pubs, taverns, restaurants, cafés, and steakhouses. The first week of November will be devoted to the tasting of ruj drops and the tasting of delicious traditional dishes that will conjure up new tastes for the stomach and palate.
After Slovenia the harvest in many places has already ended or is in full swing. Winemakers are already preparing grapes and cellars for winemaking. Those who have been successful in preparation in previous years ugly drops, this year they will be able to show how delicious their glass of wine is at the November martini.
This year will be like every year the old town center of Ljubljana full of wine lovers, which will celebrate Saint Martin. On The town square, Stritarjeva street, Cankarjev nabrežje and Prešeren square many providers will line up wines. Winemakers from all wine-growing regions of Slovenia will present themselves with their excellent wines, the emphasis of which will be on more light, summer wines, providers of a wide variety of culinary delights and performers in the cultural program.
For tasting and buying wine by the glass, you will need an official event glass, which you can buy or rent at INFO stands, where you can also buy value coupons for purchases from providers.
