At a ceremony at the Center for Education, Rehabilitation, Inclusion and Counseling for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Ljubljana, Mastercard donated a Table for Everyone and presented a manual entitled Inclusion for Everyone. The inclusive desk, created as part of the Mastercard Holiday Village project in collaboration with the Romanian NGO AMAIS, will provide students at the IRIS Center with innovative learning and school tools. The manual contains advice and recommendations for a more inclusive lifestyle and effective communication with people who face challenges in life.
The event was attended by the popular presenter Mojca Mavec and Alen Kobilica, the founder of the Vidim cilij center for blind and partially sighted athletes, in addition to numerous societies and non-governmental organizations. Mastercard Slovenia Business Director Luka Gabrovšek emphasized the importance of social inclusion and the necessity of accepting diversity in creating a more inclusive society.
Designed as a social architectural project using the principles of inclusive design, the table for everyone is equipped with modular information panels and seats, making it accessible to all people, including those with special needs and other limitations.
The ceremony marked an important step towards greater social inclusion, and the Inclusion for Everyone manual contains descriptions of the challenges faced by people with various limitations, as well as links to societies that advocate for their equal inclusion in the social environment. It also contains tips and recommendations for a more inclusive public life that help individuals communicate more effectively in everyday situations and potential dangers.
