McLaren and Athletic Propulsion Labs (APL) have joined forces to create a running shoe featuring carbon fiber and FutureFoam air cushions.
Partnership between McLaren and APL brings advanced running shoes that will appeal to both car enthusiasts and those who play sports recreationally or professionally. Sports shoes are available for men and women, in five different color combinations. It is necessary to deduct for each pair 450 euros, and they come in a box with attractive automotive design details.
In this case, McLaren did not just use its name, as their designers worked with the APL design team for two years. The final product has a three-part middle layer of the sole, with so-called air cushions FutureFoam, in the foot and heel part of the slipper. A layer extends over the entire length of the slipper carbon fiber, but only these are visible from the underside of the slipper. The middle part of the shoe also consists of a layer of carbon-enriched compound, which should contribute to superior responsiveness and energy-efficient force absorption. The heel is designed after the seats found in the sports car McLaren Senni.
