In terms of size, the Mercedes-Benz GLE is in the middle of the SUV range of representatives of this German car brand. The newcomer will not only bring a refresh in the segment, but will also serve a lot of modern technology in addition to a new image.
Mercedes-Benz GLE it is the most aerodynamic car in its segment and, thanks to its updated design, is even more aerodynamic than its predecessor. This is definitely a feature that we like to see in SUVs, because as a result, reduces fuel consumption and noise inside the car. Despite the slightly changed shape, the GLE is grown up. The wheelbase has increased by 80 mm, which means that the passengers in the second row have 69 mm more legroom and 33 mm additional headroom. They are also available as additional equipment two headquarters in the third row, which raises the number of people we can take in the new GLE to 7.
At this moment, we only know the data for the engine, which will be found in Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4MATIC. It has mild hybrid 3.0 liter turbine gasoline inline 6-cylinder motor with 362 horsepower and 500 newton meters of torque. The electric motor adds more 21 horsepower and 250 newton meters of torque. It is available for power transmission 9-speed automatic transmission. A number of other drives will be available, including plug-in hybrid and turbodiesel, but what exactly will be available here, we will see after the presentation on Slovenian soil.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE will be available with all the latest ones driver assistance systems. Among them will be the so-called Active Distance Assist Distronic, which will facilitate coexistence forever denser traffic. The system monitors the condition of the roads in real time and if he detects that on the way to congestion, will precede this area automatically reduced speed to approx 100 km/h. At this speed, the other assistance systems will have enough time for the car they stop, if necessary. For a more comfortable ride, we have available E-Active Body Control system that controls using 48-volt electrical wiring active air suspension. The latter proves to be welcome at field driving, where the chassis can be lowered and raised as desired.
In the interior, we have already known people available MBUX infotainment system with two 12.3-inch screens. The optional Head-up display is now once bigger as in the previous version and has for 20% larger brightness. The new Mercedes-Benz GLE will be available in Europe in beginning of 2019, and he will present himself to the public in October, at the Paris Motor Show.
