Mercedes marked the 60th anniversary of the victory at the "Mille Miglia" with a special version of the SL

Mercedes SL roadster

Daimler will mark one of Mercedes-Benz's most important victories in motorsport with a special version of the SL roadster model. The limited series model will see the light of day at the Geneva Motor Show, when it will commemorate the victory at the prestigious Mille Miglia race, which was surprisingly achieved in 1955 with the legendary 300 SL model.

Daimler decided to immortalize one of the most important moments, or rather successes, in the history of competitive racing with a special version of the SL roadster model. The red thread will literally be like that, as the special matte black color will be complemented by contrasting details in bright red. This motif will appear on the front and rear spoilers, wheel rims, brake calipers and many places in the interior.

The model will be presented for the first time at the salon in Geneva, when, in addition to the finished exterior image, visitors will also be able to feast their eyes on the carefully crafted interior, which will also be characterized by a black and red motif. This will be replaced on the seats, door panels, floor mats and also on the steering wheel, while seat belts dressed in bright red color. On sports AMG seats but the inscription will also flourish SL Mille Miglia, which will let onlookers know that they are standing in front of a rare example of a modern roadster with a three-pointed star on the nose.

With a special version of the SL roadster, Daimler wants to commemorate an unexpected victory at one of the most demanding racing tests - the Mille Miglia race in 1955, when they won this prestigious laurel among production vehicles with the legendary 300 SL.
