New MOKOŠ collection and exhibition of illustrations by Mojca Krajnc
On Friday, December 7, 2012, we invite you to the presentation of the new MOKOŠ jewelry collection and the opening of an exhibition with illustrations by Mojca Krajnc.
The MOKOŠ collection is inspired by the female deities of the ancient Slavic cultural heritage. Women, who thousands of years ago were considered the most important members of society and were praised as goddesses, had their own protectors, goddesses. Through the perspective of the design of unique E2RD necklaces and illustrations by Mojca Krajnc, the Mokoš collection presents 7 goddesses:
-
MOKOŠ, goddess of fertility
-
ŽIVA, goddess of fertility who brings life
-
VESNA, goddess of spring and youth, who chases away winter
-
LADA or VLASTA, goddess of love
-
DILVIKA, goddess of the hunt
-
MORANA, goddess of death
-
DOGANA, goddess of the morning dawn and evening dawn
Because jewelry is one of the oldest forms of body adornment, with this collection we are updating forgotten stories and we explore the culture of wearing jewelry. We present it as a form of communication, as a language that expresses, communicates.
Goddesses in fashion illustration
Mojca Krajnc (www.mojcakrajnc.com) is a younger generation illustrator, graphic designer and painter. She does not limit herself to a specific style or motif in her work, drawing influences from the world of fashion, design, glamour, eroticism, humor and life in general. Her projects are fun and colorful, sometimes very minimalistic and refined.
In the E2RD gallery, she presents herself with a contemporary interpretation of the seven Slavic goddesses. Fashion illustrations round out the story into a poetic whole that reaches back into the distant past and reminds us that the typology of goddesses is also relevant today. The goddesses eloquently show their new image also with the decoration of the MOKOŠ collection, so that the energies of both artists intertwine in the exhibition.
