The most (un)friendly cities in the world for tourists

Every year, the tourist magazine Conde Nast Traveler asks its readers to trust it with their travel experiences, on the basis of which it then compiles a list of the most tourist-friendly and unfriendly cities in the world. This year, cities from the southern hemisphere reign at the top of both. Melbourne (Australia) and Auckland (New Zealand) are tied at the top of the first list, while Johannesburg (Republic of South Africa) is on the black list.

Of course they do both scales also a strong touch northern hemispheres, but more on that later. First, let's clear up the following. Friendly or unfriendly place are rather loose concepts, in the sense that the answer is not clear-cut. However, some objective frameworks, such as the location of the city near the airport, security, air quality, crowding, language barriers, the feeling of welcome and the political situation, nevertheless allow such research they float above the subjective surface. This time survey magazines Conde Nast Traveler included many questions and one of them also concerned the "friendliness" of the city. And who are the good and who are the mean 'guys'?

Melbourne and Auckland are the most in the eyes of tourists grateful host, and Australia is, just like America (Charleston, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia) represented twice on the list of the ten friendliest cities, along with Melbourne Sydney. They also keep them company, among others Siem Reap (Cambodia) and Dublin (Ireland), and the tail of the best list was captured by the destination closest to us, Budapest (Hungary).

Although we like to associate drought with the African continent, this year it does not rule on either scale and interestingly, it gave both representatives Republic of South Africa. He reigns in notoriety Johannesburg, and among the 'hardworking' he was in 8th place Cape Town.

What is also interesting is that impression of tourists not necessarily reflective impression of residents, which is most egregious at Beijing (China), sixth on the list of 'negatives', which outside observers blame for bad air, dirty streets and Gordian traffic jams. Some also fared poorly European cities, especially the French ones, which received quite a few earmarks and occupy almost half of the ranking. On pillar of shame thus found themselves "threatening" Marseille (France), a "crowded and boastful" principality Monaco, "forgetful" Cannes and "cold and lofty" Paris. They didn't even take her away Moscow (Russia), Milan (Italy) and "rude" Frankfurt (Germany). A the icing on the cake picked Johannesburg, which has 'made it' despite being one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but suffering from a lack of security. But as said, Africa she did not leave empty-handed, as the black dot was partially washed off by the diverse Cape Town.
