8. The International Mountaineering Film Festival brings all mountain lovers a series of domestic and foreign mountaineering and adventure films as well as interesting lectures.
Movies on Mountain film festival are divided into four segments – Alpinism; Climbing; Mountains, sport and adventure and Mountain nature and culture. Forty-four films by domestic and foreign filmmakers will be presented in the competition section, which will be a real treat for all mountain lovers. In addition, six films will be presented in the Retrospective.
As part of the accompanying event, we will be able to listen to interesting lectures, among other things, about the expedition of the Celje alpinist section to the Himalayan seven-thousander only in 1983 Gaurishankar, the lecture by Kazimir Drašlar - Mikc, we will be able to listen to stories about the first Slovenians in El Capitan at the lecture by Janez Dovžan, and Michael Kennedy will present his journey through the great mountains of Alaska, Pakistan, Nepal and India at the lecture, which will be enriched with photographs.
As part of the Mountaineering Film Festival, awards will be given to the best alpinists and sport climbers of the past year at the Alpinistic Climbing Evening.
