Riddick, an escaped prisoner, is abandoned on a desolate planet, scorched by an unrelenting sun with no signs of life.
But soon he has to fight for his existence against predators who are more dangerous than any human. The only way for him to escape the planet is to activate the distress call signal and alert the mercenaries who are rushing down to the planet in search of their target. The first ship to land is home to a whole new breed of bounty hunters that are even more deadly and violent, while the second ship is commanded by a man who takes the hunt for Riddick personally. Time is running out mercilessly and a storm is approaching on the horizon that no one will survive; and the hunters have no intention of leaving the planet without their trophy - Riddick. The film is the final chapter of a revolutionary saga that began in 2000 with the science fiction Planet of Darkness, and was followed by a sequel in 2004 The Riddicks chronicles.
