Love & Mercy is an unconventional portrait of Brian Wilson, the vibrant singer, songwriter and spirit agent of The Beach Boys, delving into the life and career of this musical legend. Paul Dano (There Will be Blood) took on the role of the charismatic singer, and John Cusack (Lee Daniels' The Butler) played the older version, while Bill Pohland (The Tree of Life) directed the biography. .
Love & Mercy is independent film, which in translation means that it resists the sensationalist tone of Hollywood, even though it is a story about a man who lived in glitz, fame, screaming teenage girls and everything that falls under star life.
