Secret In Their Eyes is an American thriller directed by Billy Ray (Captain Phillips). It is based on the novel La pregunta de sus ojos by Argentine writer Eduardo Sacheri. It is already the second film adaptation of this novel, after the one by Juan José Campanello, the outstanding Argentinian filmmaker who won the foreign-language Oscar in 2009 with the film The Secret in Their Eyes.
Secret In Their Eyes not to be confused with The Secret in Their Eyes, although it is based on the same book. In another film adaptation of the Argentinian novel, the main roles belong to the giants of Hollywood. In it, we find a 47-year-old Julia Roberts as FBI investigator Jess, whose teenage daughter is murdered.
Although the killer is never revealed 13 years later her co-worker Ray, played by another big name, Chiwetel Ejiofor, uncovers a new clue that could solve the mysterious case once and for all.

Along with Roberts and Ejiofor, they also appear in the thriller Nicole Kidman (Grace Monaška), Dean Norris (The Crooked Path) and Michael Kelly (House of Cards).
