Have you ever found yourself in a Zara store, trying on different sizes of clothing and wondering if there is an easier way to find the right size? Well, maybe the answer is hidden right in front of your eyes - on Zara clothing tags.

Zara, a popular fashion brand, is known for its trendy clothes at affordable prices. However, clothing sizes are often inconsistent across brands. A size S at H&M can be a size M at Zara, so the best way to find out if something fits you is to simply try the garment on. But is there another, easier way?

Markings on Zara clothing: triangle, circle, square

You may have noticed some random geometric shapes on the labels Zara clothes? TikTokers discovered circles, triangles and squares on Zara clothing labels and offered an explanation of what they might mean. These seemingly random shapes could help you figure out which size to choose when shopping, reducing the amount of time you spend in fitting rooms.

TikTok user Vanessa revealed that each garment bears a mark in the shape of a circle, triangle or square. Circle indicates that the garment is larger, triangle, that the garment is smaller, square but it means that the garment is "the right size". This insight is useful when shopping for new clothes at the store.

However, a representative of the brand revealed to Metro that these tags do not indicate the size of the garment, but refer to specific Zara collections: Woman, Basic and TRF. He said: "These symbols refer to specific departments within the store to help colleagues know where to put the clothes."

How to choose the right size of clothes in Zara?

However, the general opinion is that Zara sizes run a little small, so it is better to choose a larger size to achieve the best fit. She is a stylist for the magazine OK! said: "The TRF collection has slightly smaller models, Zara Woman is slightly more generous, and Zara basic is simply basic and the right size."

However, from personal experience, the best way to get the right fit is always to simply try on clothes or order more than one size up to avoid disappointment. This is an expensive habit, as you then have to return the unsuitable clothes to the store.

If you can't visit a Zara store and would rather order several sizes and spend more money than necessary, try Zara's handy tool that helps online shoppers find their first size. On every garment online, Zara has a sizing tool that shows each size in measurements. You can simply click on the size ranging from XXS to XXL to know the exact measurements of the garment.

As the saying goes, “Measure twice, cut once”, and this seems to apply when shopping for clothes at Zara as well. With a little care and understanding of the hidden symbols on labels, you may be able to save time and frustration in finding the perfect piece of clothing.
