Nameless Paints - a set of colors that helps with intuitive understanding of colors

The names we assign to colors are limiting and actually hinder our brains. The water that flows from the tap is not "blue". The leaves on the trees can be "green", but they can also be some other color. A Japanese design duo wants to change that – they want to change the way our children learn about colors. This is how the Nameless Paints paint set was born, where the colors are what they are - just colors.

Yusuke Imai and Ayami Moteki together form the design duo Ima Moteki. Yusuke Imai it's about their project Nameless Paints said that with him they want to expand the definition of what color can be and its shades that we create during mixing. That's why they didn't name the colors.

Instead of a name, the color tube is decorated with one or more colored circles. Where there are multiple circles, the size of the circle determines the proportion of color - ie a larger circle means a larger proportion of colour.
