Crassula, better known as the "money tree", has been adorning homes around the world for decades – but few know that this succulent beauty hides much more than just its aesthetic charm. In feng shui, it is considered a symbol of financial stability, progress and energy flow. Its characteristic appearance – round, fleshy leaves resembling coins – is not only a lovely detail of nature, but also symbolically represents the accumulation of wealth. According to ancient Chinese tradition, the more the Crassula grows, the more prosperity it brings to the home.

And this is where an interesting twist occurs – gorgeous it can also bloom, which is believed to be an extremely good sign. Blooming means that the conditions are perfect: light, watering, nutrients and energy in the room. But to reach this point, you need to give the plant more than just occasional watering. The key to success is proper nutrition – and this is where a homemade, natural fertilizer comes in, based on two basic ingredients that you almost certainly already have in your kitchen.

Why is Crassula considered a plant of abundance?

Crassula (Crassula ovata) is a species of succulent plant in the Crassulaceae family, native to South Africa. Its popularity in feng shui stems from the belief that plants with round leaves (symbolically resembling coins) attract material wealth. The plant is a symbol of steady growth and strength - qualities that are often associated with success in all areas of life.

The key to healthy growth: light, watering and the right nutrients

Crassula needs a lot of light – ideally, a spot by a window with full sun for at least 4 to 6 hours a day. Overwatering is one of the most common mistakes – the plant thrives best if it is watered only when the soil is completely dry. In winter, watering should be minimal. For optimal growth, it also needs the right amount of nutrients:

Calcium – for the development of a strong root system and plant stability

Phosphorus – stimulates the formation of new shoots and flowering

Nitrogen – ensures lush, healthy foliage (but in moderation, as too much nitrogen can prevent flowering)

Natural fertilizer for daisies: a recipe with two (or three) ingredients

Nature offers us a completely free but effective solution – homemade fertilizer made from eggshells. They contain up to 95% calcium carbonate, as well as trace elements such as magnesium, phosphorus and potassium. Together with sugar and optional banana peel, we get the ideal mixture to stimulate the growth of krasula.

    2. Grind them into a fine powder – preferably with a coffee grinder or blender.

    4. Add more if desired 1 tablespoon ground dried banana peel – a source of phosphorus and potassium.
    5. Sprinkle the mixture over the surface of the soil in the pot and gently mix it with the top layer.
    6. Water the plant as usual - moderately and only when the soil is dry.

Why sugar?
Sugar stimulates the activity of beneficial microorganisms in the soil, which in turn improves the availability of nutrients to the plant. This means better absorption of minerals and faster growth.

Why banana peel?
Banana peel It contains phosphorus and potassium – two elements that significantly affect root development, flower formation, and the overall resistance of the plant.

Flowering Crassula: a sign of exceptional balance

Although rare, carnations can also bloom indoors. Their flowers are small, white or slightly pink, and appear at the tips of the branches. This usually happens in winter, when the plant has had a period of rest, light and minimal watering. Flowering is not only a visual achievement, but also a symbol of perfect balance - a sign that you have provided the plant with optimal conditions.

Less is more – they think

Crassula is a truly undemanding plant, but that doesn't mean it doesn't need any work. With a little effort, the right nutrients, and regular, thoughtful care, it can become not only a green decoration for your home, but a real energy booster for success and stability. And if you're lucky - maybe your own Crassula will bloom. According to Feng Shui, this is supposed to be a sign that you're on the path to new opportunities and... who knows, maybe some additional income.
