At the magazine National Geographic published an article about the Slovenian "unicorn", a deer that lived with only one horn. He lived because, unfortunately, the "unicorn" is no longer among the living, as hunters discovered the fairy-tale deformity on the deer's skull only after the animal was shot. The authenticity of the horn was confirmed for the magazine by a Slovenian game expert, dr. Boštjan Pokorny. Pokorny assured the authenticity of the photo and refuted any suspicions that its editing involved manipulation.
