Electronics and supercapacitor startup Nawa has unveiled its latest innovation in the form of the Nawa Racer electric motorcycle. It will be presented at the international trade fair CES 2020.
Nawa Racer represents a modern interpretation of the classic 'cafe racer'. It drives him hybrid system, which consists of lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitor. A supercapacitor could be described in layman's terms as a superbattery that can store more energy like a normal battery, but it can also be significantly faster full and empty. At Nawa, they are convinced that such hybrid systems will become future electrical mobility. Capacitance supercapacitor 0.1 kWh can be combined with a battery that has a capacity 9 kWh, provides enough energy to drive the motorcycle almost 150 kilometers far away. Racer that has 100 horsepower, it only needs 3 seconds, to accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h, and its maximum speed is 160 km/h.
At Nawa, they also state that it could be due to extraordinary circumstances effective regenerative braking transported up to 288 kilometers a long way. Nawa's hybrid system is dimensionally completely adaptable, which means that such a system could also run without problems a car or even bigger transportable means.
