The arrival of the Nest Cam device was somewhat expected, if we remember that Nest, which was founded by two former Apple people, recently bought the company DropCam. Nest has already controlled your home heating thermostat and detected smoke and carbon monoxide, and the Nest Cam also keeps an eye on the house like a watchdog. It is a direct descendant of the DropCam Pro camera, but slimmer, with a resolution of 1080p (the predecessor was capable of 720p), with a night view and an online service that allows you to follow the action anywhere in the world.
Nest Cam is a security camera and smoke detector in one that you can command to send you a notification, when it detects movement or loud noises, and with the add-on it is capable of storing up to 30 days of recordings. The company signed under it Nest, which is owned by Google.
Nest Cam is the direct successor of the model DropCam Pro, which, when upgraded to a smoke detector, underwent only a few cosmetic fixes. Still, upgrades are more than welcome. This applies both to the magnet, which facilitates placement in the desired place, transfer in full HD 1080p, 130 degree view, a better zoom, but it also cuts better in low light conditions.
