The Chester project, designed by two designers living in Berlin, presents a new revolutionary material - quilted wood.
Designers living in Berlin Oya-Meryem Yanik and Anastasiya Koshcheeva together they created the Chester project. It is an innovative woodworking that is the result of an experimental approach to design and many variations of prototyping.
The layers of veneer are connected to each other by means of seams instead of glue, which ensures a more ecological product. The new concept of joining with sewing creates completely new possibilities for using veneer. At the same time, the seams create an interesting decorative appearance of the material and make it look softer.
