Once upon a time, the Ford Puma was already driving on European roads in the form of a small coupe - the name is coming back, this time in the form of a compact crossover. Perhaps a bit of a strange change, but considering the current 'fashion' trends in the automotive industry, the design and recognizable name is not a bad decision!
The shape of the new car Ford Puma it is not surprising and is in line with the competition compact crossbreeds – it is based on the Ford Fiesta, with which it shares quite a few design elements.
Puma's front end works 'cheerful', and the sitting position is, of course higher. We also find a lot in common in the interior, and due to the shape, the Puma has a larger luggage compartment in which it can fit 456 liters space. We have more available additionally opening under the luggage compartment, which even has its own drain for easier cleaning.
Puma will be full of modern technology such as the system Ford CoPilot 360 - a case of limited autonomous system, who can drive the car himself between traffic jams. Powered by Puma 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder gasoline engine that is connected to 48-volt electric system and is mild hybrid. It will be available with 125 horsepower (92 kW) or 155 horsepower (114 kW). We can also expect later diesel engine.
At launch, the new Ford Puma will be available with equipment Titanium and ST-Line – as the name suggests, the ST-Line will have more sporty look.
Among the technology, we can mention the reverse camera that it has 180° overview of the surroundings. Ford claims that this is the first time such a camera has been used in Puma's automotive segment. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are available as standard equipment. The radio and other functions are managed via 8-inch touch screen, and the driver has available instead of classic gauges 12.3-inch digital display. Sound system with by ten the speakers are among the best in the class, and in Puma you can even imagine massage seats.
The new Ford Puma will a fresh face among the increasingly popular crossovers. It will have strong competition, for which it has already prepared itself with one of the largest luggage spaces in its class, an extremely efficient engine and a lot of modern technology. Puma is said to be available towards the end of this year.
