The last Porsche Boxster was quite old, so Porsche decided to renovate its smallest convertible. The Porsche 718 Boxster retains the recognizable features of the series, but has gained some extra muscle. They also changed the interior a bit, where we find changes to the dashboard and air intake slots, and the Porsche Communication Management system was also "repainted". And another important piece of information, they dropped two cylinders. Nevertheless, the 718 Boxster is more powerful than its predecessor.
Convertible Porsche 718 Boxster is visually similar to its predecessor, but different enough that they cannot be confused. He gained some muscle mass, especially in the front, in the hips and behind, where we can find new ones LED lights. The new Boxster earned the designation 718 because, as opposed to a six-cylinder (we were used to it as a six-cylinder until now), it is powered by four-cylinder power unit.
Two engine variants will be available. The basic unit is a 2.0-liter engine with 300 hp (221 kW, 30 Nm of torque), which cuts the six-cylinder predecessor by 35 hp and 100 Nm of torque. The heart of a stronger model, Porsche 718 Boxster S, and there will be a 2.5-liter turbo unit with 350 horsepower (257 kW, 419 Nm of torque), which is 35 hp or 58 Nm more than the previous Sa. The designation 718 was borrowed by the Porsche 718 Boxster in Porsche's mid-engine racing car, which achieved success in the 1950s and 1960s.

Power is transferred to the wheels of the Porsche 718 Boxster 6-speed manual transmission, for an additional fee 7-speed dual-clutch PDK. The base model of this convertible pulls from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds with a manual transmission, and two tenths faster with the PDK. If you can afford the equipment package Sport Chrono, will sprint there in 4.5 seconds. The times of the 718 Boxster S are even more impressive, setting the following times: 4.4 seconds, 4.2 seconds and 4 seconds. The four-cylinder engines of the new Porsche Boxster have significantly increased output power 14 percent more economical as predecessors.
