Volkswagen's large SUV Touareg R will be the first plug-in hybrid among models bearing the R designation and the first Volkswagen plug-in hybrid to have four-wheel drive as standard.
On motor show in Geneva the Volkswagen Touareg R50, from 2000, will get its successor. New ones Volkswagen Touareg R for a change, it won't have the 5.0-liter 10-cylinder, but instead will power it plug-in hybrid. 3.0 liter V 6 cylinder will provide 340 (250 kW) horsepower, and the electric motor is additional 136 (100 kW). In this case, the system power will be 462 (340 kW) horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. Touareg R can be with the help merely electricity drives up to speed 140 km/h, and energy reserves will be enough for up to 48 kilometers a long way. The connection concept can be started from 0 to 100 km/h in approx 5 seconds and reaches an electronically limited speed 250 km/h.
The design of the new Volkswagen R is more aggressive otherwise completely in the style of the other models with the label R. The interior will be exclusively available with in black Puglia leather and with Sepang Blue trim.
