Some time ago, we already talked about the best-selling electric car in the world, but this time we will look at it through the numbers and how it performs in practice. The Nissan Leaf offers enough space, has a sufficiently large luggage compartment, and its operation is completely simple and very user-friendly.
Nissan Leaf second generation se significantly differs from its predecessor. The newcomer stands out above all improved technology, is for 30 % quieter than the previous model, but due to the low center of gravity, it is noticeably more stable when driving. Electric motor with 150 horsepower enables rapid acceleration, as all the torque of the electric motor is available to us in moment. The Nissan Leaf is the first electric car in the world that has its range estimated by the driving cycle WLTP. This takes into account stricter and much more realistic ones criteria and is much closer to actual traffic conditions. According to the WLTP driving cycle, the new Leaf can drive up to 270 kilometers a long distance in combined driving mode, but in city driving it can cover just 389 kilometers.
The new Leaf has a 100 kilometer longer range, although it is volume batteries left the same, and its capacity increased by 67 %. With the new supply of energy, the Leaf can cover the needs 90 % of European buyers who, on average, make less than 80 kilometers daily, but in Slovenia this figure is even lower, around 50 kilometers driven per day. Electricity consumption is affected by driving style, road topography, outside temperature and the amount of cargo or the number of people in the car. Because the number of charging points in Slovenia is increasing day by day bigger and since we have the option of charging even in our own household, electric cars are already completely suitable for everyday use.
If you connect the new Nissan Leaf to a regular household socket, it will use up the battery to fully charge it 21 hours. If we connect it to a public charging station, we will need approx 7.5 hours, but if we use a fast charger, the battery will 80 % full in mere 40 minutes. Of course, you can follow all this via applications on your mobile phone so that you are always up to date on what it is like autonomy your batteries. Compared to the previous generation, the new Leaf will be available all and it will be available for purchase in authorized salon like all other cars. Nissan Leaf will have 3 type of equipment, and its starting price is 35,490 euros. From the equipment, it offers an assistance system ProPILOT and system ProPILOT Park, which automatically parks your car.
