In a time when technology reigns in every corner of the home, we still try to hide it. Black speakers, impersonal lights and cables that we twist into a knot under the sofa. But IKEA says: enough of minimalist anonymity! In collaboration with Swedish color visionary Tekla Evelina Severin – better known as Teklan – they have created a collection that not only sounds good, but also looks fantastic.
Speakers you'll hug, lights you won't want to turn off - and all with a soundstage. IKEA with the artist Teklan creates a collection that blurs the boundaries between technology and design.
It is a line where the speakers are not only functional, but statement pieces, and the lights don't just emit light, they create atmosphere with color, shape, and character. The collection, which will be available in December 2025, combines technology with personality—and promises to revolutionize how we perceive home electronics. Spoiler: Your guests won't believe this pink-and-green, jazz-playing statue actually plays Spotify.

When technology finally gets style
The design philosophy of the collection is based on a very simple yet revolutionary idea: why should technology be just functional when it can also be beautiful? We've learned a lot about developing quality audio products in recent years - and now we treat them with the same care as the rest of the home,” explains Sara Ottosson, product developer at IKEA of Sweden. And that’s exactly what we see in every piece of the collection.

Teklan brings her distinctive vision of colors and geometries to the collaboration – her products explore the space between two-dimensional and three-dimensional, between function and fantasy.Color is emotional. It can completely change how we perceive an object,” he says. And that's why speakers have become more than just speakers – they are a dialogue with the space, they are the silent (or quite loud) protagonists of the living room.

SOLSKYDD speakers: when every piece tells its own story
At the heart of the collection is the series SUNSHINE – three Bluetooth speakers of different sizes and personalities.
- A small, portable model in orange and with a pattern that's almost cheeky.
- A medium, green-brown model with diagonal stripes, perfect for urban living rooms with character.
- And the largest, a wall-mounted speaker that acts as an art installation in its orange texture.
Each speaker can be freestanding, hanging or connected to other IKEA speakers for a true multi-room sound experience. They also support the function Spotify Tap, meaning your favorite song is just a click away – because honestly, who still looks for Bluetooth in settings?

KULGLASS: lamp, speaker and visual candy
The other stars of the collection are the lamp-speakers COOLGLASS in shades of green and reddish-brown with a soft pink – with a silhouette that strongly resembles a soft ice cream. And that’s no coincidence: Teklan says she was looking for shapes that were friendly and homely, and the colors were inspired by childhood nostalgia. She even came up with the mint green based on a memory of an old bar of soap from her grandparents’ bathroom – so if it looks familiar to you, you’re not alone.
KULGLASS is not just a lamp with a speaker – it is an interactive ambiance that invites you to relax, listen, and let yourself be embraced by light and sound.

And more: cables that are no longer an ugly secret
Of particular note are the braided charging cables with names that sound like supporting characters from IKEA's fantasy saga: SITTBRUNN, RUNDHULT and LILLHULTAll are designed in retro colors and inspired by the design of climbing ropes – because even a cable deserves some style.
A dotted version of the iconic light FADO and adds a touch of humor to the collection – because every serious home should have at least one cute circle that emits soft light and resembles a spaceship.

Lifestyle with a vision
This collection is not just a design experiment – it’s an attempt to change the way we relate to technology. With it, IKEA and Teklan prove that home electronics can express our style, mood and even nostalgic memories. No more cold boxes, no more cables under the carpet – a new era is here, and it has color, texture and a soundscape.
The collection will be available globally from December 2025, but exact dates vary by country. In Slovenia, we can expect it to arrive shortly after – so be sure to check with your local IKEA store.
Technology that makes you happy even before you turn it on
In a world where everything is standardized and monochrome, IKEA and Teklan offer something boldly different. This isn't technology you hide - it's technology you show off with a smile.
