No more wearing shorts or a miniskirt on a plane! Why is no one talking about this – and why should you care?!

Shorts, miniskirts and high heels may seem tempting, but on a plane they can become a real problem. Do you really want to sit on an unfamiliar, possibly dirty surface with completely bare feet? What if an emergency evacuation is needed? The moment you step into the cabin, everything is different – and your clothes can decide how safely you survive the flight.

Airplane not a normal place. Although many people think of flying as a simple means of transportation, the cabin is actually a closed, specific environment where conditions are different from those on the ground. Limited space, filtered air, cramped seats, and unpredictable circumstances require thoughtful wardrobe choices. Comfort is important, but it shouldn't be the only criterion.

Exposed skin means more contact with surfaces that many passengers use. Although airplane cabins are cleaned, seats are not sterile. Shorts or a miniskirt mean your skin comes into direct contact with the seatbacks, seat cushions or aisles, where bacteria, dust mites and fluid residue can accumulate.

Longer pants and a dress that covers the knees, are therefore a much better choice – they offer protection and keep you cleaner during the flight.

Footwear that can harm you on a plane

High heels, sandals or flip-flops are a dangerous choice. In the event of an evacuation – which can happen very quickly – you need to leave the plane as quickly as possible. Sometimes on a slippery surface, other times over grass, concrete or even into nature. Heels can damage rescue equipment, and sandals fall off at the first jolt.

Footwear that is securely attached to the foot will protect you from injuries, the heat or cold of the ground, and unpredictable spills. A closed, low-cut shoe made of durable material is therefore the best solution.

Barefoot in the cabin? Bad idea

Although it seems relaxed Taking off your shoes is not recommended. The floor in the cabin may be dirty, chemically disinfected or wet. In addition, there may be sudden turbulence, which means that you will have to get up or leave your seat quickly. In such a case, being barefoot is dangerous - falls, injuries and even burns are not excluded. Your feet are the basis of your stability - Shoes should remain on your feet throughout the flight..

Materials that can become a trap

Synthetic fibers Materials such as polyester, acrylic and nylon are not recommended for flying. In the event of a fire, these materials will burn and melt very quickly, which can cause severe burns. Natural materials such as cotton, wool or linen are a much safer choice.

Also, be careful with accessories – metal belts, chains, or massive earrings can set off alarms and cause inconvenience during security checks.

Multiple layers of clothing – your safety margin

Cabin temperature changes frequently. It can be hot during boarding, but the temperature drops quickly during the flight. It is therefore wise to wear several layers, which you can add or remove as needed. A light sweater, jacket or scarf are great companions in the air. This will help you stay comfortable and avoid catching a cold, headaches or feeling unwell.
