September 26 will be dedicated to a pan-European event as part of this year's Researchers' Night 2014. In our country, Researchers' Night will take place in four locations: in Ljubljana, Novi Mesto, Izola and Planica.
Researchers' Night is a project from the program Horizon 2020, whose goal is to present the profession and life of a scientist in more detail to the public. Many of us still do not know concretely how the work goes and what the life of a scientist is like. The pan-European event takes place in most European countries on the same day. Last year, the event took place in more than 600 locations and in more than 300 European cities at the same time. Undoubtedly, Slovenia also deserves such an event, so that it can attract all generations to science, technology and research.
"Researchers and scientists at the center of everyday life" is also the focus of all the activities of this year's event. Among other things, it will be possible to participate in activities such as various interesting experiments in the laboratory, at the stands it will be possible to use microscopes to study plants and to see many representatives of insects. We will also be able to learn how the weather is predicted and see autonomous mobile robots. Of course, the event will not lack physics experiments and many other workshops and interesting lectures about space, which will take place as part of the program on Planica. Would you like to try the basic tests used to assess changes in the health of astronauts before and after their time in space? Then this is a unique opportunity for you to indulge in the embrace of science and technology.
