After months of teasing at Opel with scarce information about the smallest model in the range, they have now announced that it will hit the roads in the spring and fight the fierce competition of the A-segment. The Opel Karl will convince buyers with a pleasing image, equipment that we are not used to in this segment and a new 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine.
The Opel Karl, named after one of the founders of the brand, can be recognized by its modest external dimensions, which with 368 longitudinal ones centimeters they place significantly under the four-meter-long corsa and even a little (two centimeters) under the adam, and a playful external image, which in many ways should indicate the also announced next generation corsa. The nose of the vehicle is characterized by the so-called "Opel smiley", in the case of better-equipped versions, there will also be an above-average amount of chrome on the hood and under it, and the fog lights will also be able to shine when cornering.
Despite its small dimensions, the karl should be able to comfortably transport five adults, and in terms of appearance, the dashboard is the closest to that of the adam. However, in addition to the spaciousness of the cabin, the Karl will also stand out in terms of standard equipment, because in addition to ESC, they will always be part of the standard equipment hill start system (hill assist) and city steering mode – city, which will significantly facilitate the rotation of the steering wheel and thus maneuvering.
