Galesnjak is probably the most famous Croatian island in the world, and it can thank its "fame" for its recognizable shape - the islet is in the shape of a heart.
Galesnjak is a small, uninhabited island in the Pašman Channel, also known as Island of love and Island of lovers. It is located between the island of Pašman and the town of Turanj on the mainland, and it attracted the attention of the domestic and international public in 2008, when Google Earth declared one of the rare natural phenomena in the shape of a heart. The island of Galešnjak was first placed on the world map by cartographer Charles-François Beautemps-Beaupré at the beginning of the 19th century, when he drew an almost perfect heart shape on the map of Dalmatia.

Galesnjak due to its unique shape, it attracts foreign and domestic tourists, especially couples in love. But what is on this 0.132 square kilometer islet? The uninhabited abandoned island, where low vegetation grows, does not have a single tourist facility. However, this one peace, silence and special atmosphere, which it emits, attract people to visit Galešnjak. It has several pebble beaches, ideal for sunbathing and swimming, and is surrounded by a crystal clear blue sea.

You can reach it by boat yourself, or you can go on one of the many cruises that include a tour of the island. It is easiest to visit it from Zadar or Pašman. If you want to spend the night on it, it is the only option camping, for which you will need to apply for a permit, as the island is privately owned.
