An exceptional collection of polycarbonate furniture by designer Phillippe Starck

Salon del Mobile of this year's design week in Milo marked an important anniversary - 15 years of creating furniture from a single polycarbonate module of the Kartell salon. It all started in 1999, when the famous Phillippe Starck presented the "La Marie" design, and now he is upgrading it with an even greater exceptionality, the "Uncle Jim Aunts and Uncles" collection.

The centerpiece of the collection it is also the most striking representative of this advanced technology. It's a bench "Uncle Jack" with a seat size of 190 centimeters and a weight of 30 kilograms, made of single polycarbonate module. In addition, in the collection Phillip Starck for Cartel we can also find elegant armchairs "Uncle Jim" and "Uncle Jo".

As he says Starck, a case of a modern minimalist version of old armchairs and benches, on which his aunts and uncles sat in front of the fireplace for countless hours, smoking a pipe and knitting, in complete tranquility. Although much has changed since then, our dream remains the same. So he decided to offer a timeless piece of furniture, more easily accessible to everyone and from material created by man himself.
