At this year's Paris design fair Maison & Objet, Japanese artist Yukiko Morita presented her latest innovative product, Pampshade, a handmade lamp made of real bread.
Yukiko Morita used to be a baker, hers love of bread was the real motivation for the creation of lights Pampshade. And what makes up such lamps? Flour, salt, yeast, LED lights and batteries, which are then coated with a layer bad luck, to protect the bread from decay.
How does she do it? Yukiko bakes the bread, then the inside is cut out as finely as possible, and then the bread is coated with resin. This is followed by a circuit, which he adjusts according to the shape of the lamp.
