The great hardcore punks Pennywise are coming to the capital. They are named after the seemingly benevolent clown who sows fear and death from Stephen King's cult book Ono. They were formed at the largest independent punk rock label Epitaph Records in the late 1980s and released as many as nine studio albums. Their albums were released in the company of giants such as Bad Religion, NOFX, Rancid and The Offspring. It was only their third album, About Time, that achieved great success around the world. The group was shaken by life's tragedies, but it always held its own. So Pennywise was rocked by the death of bassist Jason Thirsk, who had written most of Pennywise's songs up to that point. After a difficult experience, the boys continued their musical journey with new bassist Randy Bradbury. Soon they released the album Full Circle, which, among other things, contains the eternal hardcore anthem Bro Hymn. The album surpassed the success of its predecessor. Pennywise remained in this lineup until August 2009, when vocalist Jim Lindberg unexpectedly left the band. Lindberg was replaced by Zoli Téglás, until then the lead singer of Ignite. He turned out to be a great replacement and the guys welcomed him with open arms as a full member of the group. Guitarist Fletcher Dragge, bassist Randy Bradbury, drummer Byron McMackin and the band's newest member, a singer Zola Téglás are currently on tour and one of the stops is Ljubljana. This year, the boys also announce the release of a new album.
