Rhythm awakens something primal in all of us. It is a support in all musical genres and leads us, willy-nilly or not, into a whirlwind of dance and fun. And the members of the drum group Percossa are aware of this. René Sjeno Pierings, Janwillem van der Poll, Neils van Hoorn and Eric Robillard they are trained musicians and real virtuosos on percussion. They combined a sense of rhythm with a sense of theater and the Percossa project was born, an explosive mix that will simply blow our minds. At the end of the eighties, the boys went to the south of France with an old Citroën camper, full of old percussion instruments, and started performing in a street theater group. Here they gained valuable experience in communication with the audience and various street theater skills, which they then adapted for the stage. They had their first stage debut with a play Rhythmix in 1998. Since then, audiences have been treated to a new show approximately every two years. Alle Gekheid Met Een Stokje (All craziness with a stick), Hitmen, Pulse, From Holland and many others paved a great path to the current show, which combines the experiences of all previous projects. Besides Percoce and members also have side projects. Some teach at top schools like Rotterdam Conservatory and Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Among other things, they organize many workshops, participate in major educational projects and also in other theater productions in order to convey the secrets of rhythm to as many people as possible. Thus, at the Ljubljana concert, we can expect dance, acrobatics, pantomime, shadow play, magic, beautiful costumes, impressive lighting and excellent percussion, as well as an energetic performance that will take our breath away.
