Athletes have to think about the continuation of their career path already during their competitive participation. In order to empower young promising athletes and encourage them to actively develop a dual career, a three-day event with practical workshops was held under the auspices of the Coca-Cola Youth Academy between November 17 and 19, 2017 in Portorož. Former alpine skier Petra Robnik was among the lecturers.
More than 40 young athletes in old age from 18 to 25 years attended the workshops of lecturers with different professional fields, and they also shared their experiences with them former top Slovenian athletes, including Rasha Srak, Jure Košir and Rožle Prezelj. Petra Robnik, who at the Olympic Committee of Slovenia-Sports Federations, among other things, takes care of the dual careers of athletes, emphasized: "At the event, the young people acquired or upgraded their formal and informal knowledge in practical areas such as communication in a connected world, brand building and social responsibility based on Olympic values. When an athlete enters the labor market, the athlete's education and ability to transfer the knowledge acquired in sports to the business environment are key."
