Marko Lipuš's exhibition is an overview of "thoughts" captured on paper, which encompass several artistic and craft media and as such go beyond the typical products of photographers, painters, illustrators, etc. It is about harmonizing diverse analog and digital images; similar to quotes in a fresh connection, these carry a different, unexpected message. Stylistically, it is a mixture of comics and caricatures, but in terms of effect, it reflects the current mood and contemporary spirit of the time. In the series Der Gedanke, which was published once a week in the Austrian magazine Der Standard in 2007 and won the Bank of Austria art prize, the author "quoted" primarily the environment of an urban area with millions of people, multiculturalism, the tradition of the Central European area and global events. In this way, it is reminiscent of the products of pop art, as we know them primarily through Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. Marko Lipuš wonders about the exhibition whether it makes sense to present images from newspapers and handicraft photography in galleries, since they are a reflection of everyday life at a certain time.
