The 31st Piran Days of Architecture international architectural conference will take place on Saturday. It will be accompanied by the opening of four accompanying architectural exhibitions.
This year's days of architecture with the Ethics of Architecture naturally continue last year's, when they questioned the timelessness of the Vitruvian paradigms - utilitas, firmitas, venustas. This year, participants at the event will discuss what social role and meaning does architecture have? What are its potentials to become a vital social and communication tool? What responsibility does the architect bear in this?
We will be able to listen to six lectures and ten lecturers, the lectures will be given by Taisto H. Mäkelä, Francisco Cifuentes, Špela Videčnik and Rok Oman, Stefano Gri, Piero Zucchi, Kevin Carmody, Andrew Groarke, Josep Camps and Olga Felip. In addition, there will be two more student presentations and four architectural exhibitions - Piranesi 2013, Brainpark Litostroj 2012_2013, the Koper passenger terminal and the connection to the old town of Opeka is beautiful. As a highlight, the Piranesi International Prize will be awarded.
