The Game Boy gaming console, produced by Nintendo, became a global hit in the 1990s. We have good news for Game Boy fans. Its modern miniature version will soon be on the market.
We present to you PocketSprite, which is the result of a collaboration between programmer Jeroen Domburg and producer Steve K. You can support the project through the website Crowd Supply.
PocketSprite is an improved version of the original Game Boy. Game content will be displayed on OLED screen. Wireless networks will be available to us Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The console contains a battery that can be recharged every time. It also has a built-in speaker. It drives the device dual-core 240 MHz ESP32 chip. It is on read-write memory 520 KB of space. We must not forget about 4.19 megahertz processor and 16 KB of memory.
On this gaming console, we will be able to try our hand at playing games designed for devices Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Sega Master System and Game Gear. You can load any game on PocketSprite, but it requires some knowledge of encryption to make it work. PocketSprite has our Wi-Fi point through which we connect to the computer. This allows users to easily download games to the console.
PocketSprite is sold in two versions: the first is already fully assembled, while you need another put together yourself – so you will get an insight into how the device works. If you decide to pre-order, you will only pay for the console 36 euros. The producers intend to send out the first shipments April 15 this year.
