Nowadays, the printer is something so taken for granted, next to the computer, that we don't even think about it often. It ended years ago, when the first 3D printers began to appear, with which many interesting things could be printed. 3D printers will offer new possibilities in development and industry, and already in 2019 a 3D printed car.
Polymaker XEV is actually a project between Polymaker, a 3D printing company, and X Electrical Vehicle, an Italian car manufacturer. Together, they set themselves a project 3D printed car, for which the biggest sales are expected precisely in China, where Polymaker has its production. Company in mere three days prints the entire 3D car, of course without the seats, chassis, tires and windows. As a result, the price is significantly lower and costs only a little more than 6,000 euros.
The Polymaker XEV is small electric city car, at first glance very similar to the latest generation Smart, and has room for two passengers. The Polymaker XEV has only approx 50 components, which is significantly less than the average car that has them around 2000. The car reaches maximum speed 70 km/h, and with it we can transport to 150 kilometers with one charge, which is just enough for living in an urban environment. On one production 3D line, they can make up to 500 cars annually, which of course means that more lines produce more cars. More production lines will definitely be needed, as the company already has more than 7000 orders, mostly these are other companies that will use the XEV for delivery, car-sharing, rent-a-car and other purposes.
