Porsche 911 Carrera T (2018): when less is more

Porsche 911 Carrera T (2018): when less is more

Porsche has committed to introducing a few car models that will return to the primal nature of driving, without the necessary frills in the form of entertainment and other systems. The Porsche 911 Carrera T is one of those special models that has lost a lot of weight but gained in other areas.

Porsche 911 Carrera T has reduced weight, mainly because they are removed the rear bench and information-navigation system. If buyers still want these things, Porsche will return them to their place at no extra charge. Thanks to the slimming cure, the Porsche 911 Carrera Touring 20 kilograms lighter compared to the base model 911 Carrera. The weight of the Carrera Touring is 1425 kilograms, Although they added Porsche's active suspension, which brings the bottom of the vehicle closer to the road by 20 mm. In contrast to the regular Carrera, the Touring has the option of turning the rear axle, a lighter Chrono package and an optimized manual transmission with shorter strokes and shorter gear ratios.

Under the hood, the 911 Carrera T has a standard 3.0-liter six-cylinder biturbo engine. It has 370 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. It needs up to 100 km/h 4.5 seconds, which is a tenth faster than the regular Carrera. Upon selection PDK gearbox, that time improves even further, to 4.2 seconds. With this gearbox, the Carrera T needs 14.5 seconds to reach 200 km/h. The final velocity of the car is greater than 290 km/h. The 20-inch wheels were borrowed from the 911 Carrera S model, but to make it easier to recognize the Carrera T among all models, pay attention to the front spoiler and metallic gray painted rear-view mirrors. You will also notice the model logos and the black painted tailpipes.

The interior is for weight reduction more spartan, as it has no radio or navigation. As already mentioned, you can also think of both and you will get everything in the car for free. In Germany, the price of the new 911 Carrera Touring will be 107,553 euros, which is about 10,000 euros more expensive than the standard 911 Carrera.
