Eduardo Vaz, director of international market development at the Giovanni Galli brand, visited Slovenia for the fourth time, this time for a very special reason. The first Giovanni Galli men's fashion store in Slovenia was opened in the Emporium shopping center. A commercial brand of Portuguese origin and Italian name, it is unique in its quality and price. Not at all shy, Eduardo taught the gentlemen here about style, Portuguese temperament, wearing suits and a confident attitude.

The Giovanni Galli brand is commercial in concept and classic in clothing. Who is your man?

Giovanni Galli is a middle-class brand, as such brands are lacking on the market. Covering the majority population, we consider ourselves a commercial brand that offers the complete package, from apparel to accessories, from sportswear to business wear. With us, men create their entire look and get all their clothes for the week and the weekend in one place. Many people also buy their first dress from us. Our men are of various profiles, from those who are just entering the business world to those who need a nice dress for a special occasion.

How would you describe the importance of a good suit for a man living in a society obsessed with looking perfect?

A good suit is a garment that should fit a man almost perfectly, as if it was made just for him. It should also reflect his character and match his face and the rest of his wardrobe. Such a suit is indispensable for a modern man.

Of course, there are also certain rules when it comes to wearing dresses. Which ones are they?

The shirt sleeve always peeks out a bit from under the jacket, so the shirt is also visible. Cufflinks can be worn with or without a tie, but the most common rule is to wear them without. The tie is always tied in the same way.

Men's trends do not change as quickly as women's, but there is still something new every season. What will be the trends in the future?

Everything is becoming more and more casual, but at the same time customers are increasingly demanding. The dresses are therefore more and more refined in detail: they are decorated with more beautiful buttons, exquisitely made linings, there are more and more internal pockets, and the seams are also special. In the next two or three years, dresses will certainly still be made of wire.

What about the colors? Women's fashion is bursting with all these colors at the moment.

When it comes to colors, men are very careful, especially here in Slovenia, I noticed that they are very conservative. Classic dark shades such as black, gray and dark blue are most in demand. In Portugal, it's a bit different, because we also make jackets in more vivid colors, such as green or elegant white.

So is there a difference between men in Portugal and here in Slovenia?

Of course, the men here are a bit taller and much prefer fitted suits. The climate is also different, so a man here needs clothes made of stronger materials.

Quality and price are often directly proportional in fashion, and Giovanni Galli is one of the few brands that offers quality clothes at unusually low prices. How is this possible?

The aim of the brand is, of course, to reach the majority of the population, and this is the middle class, for whom price means a lot. Even if you shop at Armani, you will be interested in the price. We have the advantage that all pieces cost the same, all jackets have the same price, as well as shirts or ties. The customer knows the price even before he enters the store, and can thus accurately estimate how much he will spend, what he can afford. As much as 80 percent of our production is in Europe, which ensures control and, of course, quality. We can afford low prices because the production is so large.

Choosing the first dress is not an easy task. What advice do you have for a man buying his first suit?

My advice is very simple: let him choose the cut that fits him best and the color that he likes best and matches the rest of his wardrobe - shirts, ties and shoes.
