The story is about a widow who had two daughters. The first was hardworking and beautiful, and the second was lazy and ugly. But the widow preferred the lazy one because she was her real daughter. So the hardworking girl had to do the hard housework and spin every day, while the lazy one lay around and ate jam.
One day, a hardworking girl drops a ball of wool into a well. When she tries to pull it out, she falls in herself and finds herself in the world of Mrs. Pehtra. She invites her to her home and reveals to her how she makes snow with the help of a feather duster.
