On the thirtieth of October, the ballet novelty Tristan and Isolde will be premiered on the stage of the Ljubljana Opera House, with original music by the contemporary Slovenian composer Saša Kalan with musical excerpts from Wagner's opera Tristan and Isolde and choreography by a young choreographer with Romanian roots, Dan Datcu.
A love story about Tristan and Isolde it is considered one of the central ones in Europe, as it strongly influenced the poetic tradition from the Middle Ages onwards. Their motive romantic and at the same time tragic love has inspired playwrights, poets, writers, composers and artists in the broadest sense of the word over the centuries, so it's no wonder there are so many versions of it.

The ballet performance Tristan and Isolde, which will premiere at SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana the thirtieth of October, is designed as a complete work of art. It leans both on the idea of completely human romantic love and on the thesis of immortality that art brings into our lives. The ballet will take place on the stage of the Ljubljana Opera House with original music by contemporary Slovenian composer Saša Kalan (1974) with some musical excerpts from Wagner's opera Tristan und Isolde. Even the choreography will be fresh, because it is work of the young choreographer of Romanian origin, Dan Datcu. They will perform in the role of Tristan Lukas Zuschlag and Kenta Yamamoto, and they will dance in the role of Isolde Tjaša Kmetec and Ana Klašnja.
The ballet novelty Tristan and Isolde is thus in line with the program idea of the entire season this year, which is "The mystery of love is greater than the mystery of death". According to the impressions at the opening concert at the beginning of the season, where the dancers Lukas Zuschlag and Tjaša Kmetec also danced an excerpt from the upcoming ballet, we are waiting for a show that will really touch us. Tickets from 15 to 250 euros are available here.
