Next Saturday at the Slovenian Youth Theater in Ljubljana, we expect the premiere performance of the play Socrates, Slavoj and the Sophists, directed by Juret Novak.
Creators of the show Socrates, Slavoj and the Sophists are returning to To Aristophanes' Oblačice, strongly similar to today's crisis stories of "fallen angels": anti-intellectual Strepsiades he gives up all his values to save himself from poverty. The play raises various questions. How can modern democracy exploit various forms of resistance for its continued existence? If the theater today could really change the system or mentality, would we still be allowed on stage? Can we even utter a critical thought in the so-called Renaissance production scheme of the theater institution?
The excellent cast is joined live on stage by the band Incurabili.
