February 8 Slovenians have been celebrating since 1945 and it is the day when we all remember the death of our greatest by the poet France Prešeren, the author of the Slovenian national anthem. In addition to the central national celebration, at which they award each year Prešeren awards for the greatest achievements in the field of art, various cultural events are also held throughout Slovenia.
The great poet is not only remembered on this day, but in one way or another he remains present in our lives throughout the year.
