Slovenian designer Tina Gorjanc shocked the world with the idea that she wants to create a collection of clothes and fashion accessories made of human skin. He makes human leather (using a tissue engineering process to make it) from the biological record of the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen. She obtained DNA from his hair, which was in the designer's "Jack The Ripper Stalks His Victims" collection. From the genetic record in the laboratory, engineers grow skin tissue from which they plan to create a collection of clothing and fashion accessories Pure Human.
Who is Tina Gorjanc, which foreign media have been talking about in recent days? Tina Gorjanc is a student at London's Central Saint Martins University who has embarked on a slightly bizarre project. Namely, he is preparing a collection of fashion clothes and fashion accessories Pure Human from the skin of the deceased fashion designer Alexander McQueen.
Of course, it's not just any kind skin peeling, as with animals for example, the Slovenian designer will get to the skin through tissue engineering.

Gorjančeva will obtain the skin tissue from the genetic material of the rajnik. Until curly hair, which comes from jewelry from McQueen's first collection ”Jack the Ripper Stalks His Victims Victims” or Jack the Ripper stalks his victims, courtesy of the owner of the collection.
As mentioned, her collection will be called Pure Human and will consist of fashion products made made of human leather. This will be made from DNA extracted from the hair, inserted into the cellular structure. The cells will then merge into skin tissue from which the final material is made, i.e. human leather, which the Slovenian designer will turn into bags, backpacks, jackets, ... Recently, Gorjančeva for the process of making human leather (obtaining leather with the help of tissue engineering) from the biological record the designer also filed a request for obtaining a patent. Although it is an unusual project to say the least, it is not so much about seeking attention and shocking as it is about critical design project, which touches on gray areas in the field of biological information protection and loopholes in biotechnology legislation (she was able to file a patent because current legislation does not restrict the commercial use of human genetic material).
And if she, as "only" a student, could file a patent for material obtained from biological information and so easily appropriated someone else's genetic information, we can only imagine what they can afford multicorporations, which do not have the word ethics in the dictionary. The products you see are not really made of McQueen's leather (the use of this for the time being confined to the laboratory), but she used for them pigskin, which is still the most human-like. Among the demonstrative pieces that are further processed with paint applications, artificial freckles and silicone, is also a jacket with McQueen tattoos. The whole project is part of hers master theses, and with it, as said, he primarily points out problems such as the fact that laws do not keep up with the pace of technology.
