Quadrofoil – a Slovenian watercraft innovation that is a real floating specialty

The Quadrofoil is a revolutionary Slovenian-made vessel, a new type which, according to the idea leader Simon Pivac, is to nautical what the arrival of the Jet Ski was to the jet ski. It glides on the surface of the water similar to a hydrofoil, i.e. it lifts its hull out of the water, and navigation is ensured by underwater wings with the bionic shape of whale fins. It is an electric, economical and environmentally friendly vehicle with operating costs of less than one euro per hour of driving.

Electric personal watercraft (PWC) Quadrofoil (2.99 m), which comes from Slovenska Bistrica, can carry two people and due to patented control system while driving it gives the feeling like flying through the air in slight turbulence and did not glide over the water. Quiet it's like a mouse, it doesn't make waves (but it will trigger a wave of approval from environmentalists and the enthusiasm of beachgoers) and no emissions (electric drive), so it is suitable not only for seas, but also for ecologically protected rivers and lakes, where navigation with internal combustion engines is otherwise prohibited (e.g. Lake Bled).

The maximum speed that the "stormtrooper" Quadrofoil can develop is 21 knots (40 km/h), and without recharging it can last for some time 100 kilometers (for a full "tank" you have to wait 2 hours). A nearly unsinkable (tightness of the hull) vessel, which, in order not to feel like a fish on dry land, needs at least one meter of water level, "takes off" at a speed of six knots (12 km/h) - thereby reducing air resistance– and ensures its stability hydrodynamics of underwater wings, which stabilizes and regulates it.
