The market for "smart watches" is growing very fast. Big companies like Samsung and HTC have already introduced some models, while they are already preparing new ones.
Qualcomm, a large background company, has come up with a limited edition Qualcomm Toq smartwatches, which will officially go on sale on December 2, 2013 for €260.
Qualcomm Toq is compatible with devices that support the operating system Android 4.0.3 or later and is equipped with Mirasol display technology, which makes the watch readable even in direct sunlight. Because of the special "Qualcomm WiPower LE" technology will be charged wirelessly at the charging station. They will also introduce the first wireless stereo headphones that will be connected via Bluetooth technology, but more on that in 2014. Among the basic functions, the Toq watch will allow the display of text messages and notifications, and the user will also be able to accept or reject calls. They have already developed various weather and other useful applications, which will be presented in the coming year. Qualcomm has no intention of taking over the smartwatch market, but with the limited series Toq, they want to introduce their technology to the fast-growing market to larger companies.
