Due to increasing urbanization, large living spaces have probably run off their bells. We will have to figure out how to make the best possible use of smaller areas without feeling cramped at the same time. Apparently, quite a few architects and designers are already thinking in a similar way, which is reflected in the growing range of furniture and home equipment suitable for smaller apartments. Among them is the young Finnish designer Tatu Laakso.
Kvan, as Laakso named it, is a line of furniture where every piece serves at least two purposes. The element for clothes is a hanger and a basket at the same time. This way, you can put clothes that are due for washing first in the basket, the contents of which you can take to the wash when the time comes. Also tea table has several functions. If you have it next to the sofa, you can put a cup or a plate on the upper base, there is a removable tray under it, and a kind of 'hammock' under it, in which you can tidy up newspapers.
In any case, similar ideas are worthy of our attention, because sometimes it seems that we have nowhere to go redundant junk and would give us a multipurpose or multifunctional gadgets come in handy.
